International days for promotion of culture, folklore and tradition of R. Of Bulgaria, R. of Macedonia and R. of Albania

The project “International days for promotion of culture, folklore and tradition of R. Of Bulgaria, R. of Macedonia and R. of Albania” was supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Municipality of Ohrid. It’s main aim was to obtain a network of institutions working in the field of folklore and tradition in the Balkans, which in the long run will collaborate with each other and care for this precious jewels from the ongoing digitalization. The project featured two festivals, workshop and conference.

The children festival “Our children dance in Ohrid” was held on 24 – 25 of April in the Cultural Center of Ohrid. Dozens of children folklore groups from Macedonia and neighboring Bulgaria participated in the event which had an official part, representing folklore dance in front of a jury, and non official part which featured an educational walk with professional guide presenting all the monuments in Ohrid.

The festival “Days for cultural promotion in Ohrid” took place form 26 – 27 of June where cultural groups were presenting national dances in official winning category. On the festival more than 20 groups were in a competition for awards and recognition.
